The new and exciting Future Healthcare, international exhibition, and conference event, taking place at London Olympia from 13-14 March 2018 is already arousing huge exhibitor, media, and delegate interest. It is radically different in its approach to other London -based healthcare events and will make a huge impact on the global healthcare industry.
Hospital Matters magazine editor John Whelan talked to the UK event director Dawn Barclay-Ross about what is new about her vision for the show and how the global healthcare community is already responding.
The initial show was launched in May 2017 and leveraged partnerships with many influential organisations, both in the UK and around the world. An unprecedented response to the launch for 2018 has resulted in almost 70 per cent of London’s Olympia, Hall 1 being reserved by exhibitors within the first six weeks of launch. An Abu Dhabi edition of the show will take place in May 2018 reflecting the global reach of the event.
Dawn, who has 26 years’ experience in the events industry and is a highly articulate spokeswoman, says: “This is excellent news for the UK healthcare market. Future Healthcare will attract key decision makers from across the global healthcare chain to enable cross-sector collaboration and deal making.
WORLD-CLASS HEALTHCARE EXHIBITION IN THE UK
“We are a world-class exhibition in the UK and the largest in Europe focusing on business opportunities arising on the global healthcare market.
“We have several unique feature areas for 2018. A big one is Digital Health, which we are all aware will help shape the future of healthcare. It makes sense to use our international network of contacts and unique platform to encourage collaboration between consultants, investors and innovative projects that need funding.
“Additionally, we have a carefully selected panel of industry VIPs who have agreed to judge our healthcare excellence innovation and achievement awards on our behalf.
“Also new in 2018 is the Open Innovations Theatre where 20 exciting innovators are chosen from our poster campaign to take to the stage. They have 10 minutes to tell the audience why their innovations are shaping the future of healthcare around the world. Of the 20 innovators presenting to the audience, four will be chosen to present for 10 minutes each, plus five minutes for Q and As, Dragons Den style, to our participating funders.”
Future Healthcare 2018 is expected to host more than 4,000 attendees from 65 countries with exhibitors from 25 countries. It is the only trade event in the UK dedicated to showcasing products, services, and innovations in healthcare across all vertical sectors, on a global scale.
Dawn says: “Major new initiatives for 2018 include the Invest In Health Zone, which will host a community of companies supplying funds to develop projects both in the UK and internationally, and Future Health International Week to name just two. As part of the first International Week for Future Healthcare Innovations, Future Healthcare will position the UK at the heart of the global healthcare industry.
Now we are 70 per cent full for suppliers with representation from 25 countries, plus the high level of registrations for visitors is a clear reflection of the interest and need for this annual event.
“Creating future healthcare events in both the UK and Abu Dhabi in 2018 will attract innovators, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, key buyers and investors, policy and decision makers in healthcare from all over the world. They will come together alongside stakeholders, to promote collaborative thinking and development, and to accelerate the technological solutions needed to support sustainable healthcare systems in two of the world’s largest markets.”
